We had a great stay in winter time.
The standard queen room was silent, included free WiFi and a hair dryer. The breakfast was tasty with plenty of options. Besides, the location was marvellous and fantastic for our stay, within 25 minutes' walk of Zamzam Well...

We had wonderful experience with Minel Hotel in July 2011. We stayed for one week and the hotel and staff could not have been better. It has the perfect location. It is a 1 minute walk from Gulhane Park (Topkapi Palace), 3 minute walk to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque and an easy walk to the Spice Market, Grand Bizarre, the train station (Orient Express) and Galata Bridge. Many hotels in Sultanahmet are noisy due to street traffic (a common complaint in Istanbul), but Minel Hotel is on a very quiet side street that cars cannot drive down due to steps on the street. The rooms are comfortable and clean with tv, a/c and a great shower. Although the hotel was only opened in May '11, it is clear that the hotel is regularly maintained - we even saw someone painting the few scuffs that the walls acquired between May and July. The hotel has an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff and they make each of their guests feel important with the individual attention given. Each morning there is a great Turkish breakfast to help you kick start the day while you read Istanbul guide books from the bookcase. I would definitely stay here again and I would strongly urge any friend or family member visiting Istanbul to stay at Minel Hotel.

The location was perfect. The rooms were clean and modern. The whole hotel was very comfortable and inviting. The owner and stuff were superb. They could answer any ? needed, and help you with directions, shopping advice, whatever you could possibly need. The food and everything were excellent. Did I mention that the owner/manager Metin was Frickin Awesome!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. the location was perfect, with easy access to the tram, metro station, and even the pier. Plus, it was just a short walk to popular attractions like Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and Yerabatan. the hotel also had a great safety record, as it was located near a crowded main street and we felt secure at any time of day or night. the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. And the room itself was clean and well-equipped with modern amenities. I would highly recommend Minel Hotel!
Couldn't fault this hotel. Everything was perfect.

The location is great, very close to Gulhane Tramway station. Walking distance to Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque. The owner is very helpful. His brother is not good at communication in English though.
The room is a little bit too small.

Small and personal designhotel, feels like home thanks to owners, staff and nice outside patio. Great location close to tram, boats and old city.
Not to much space in the room, even though it had character.

I had always dreamt of visiting the historic area of Istanbul and chose Minel Hotel for its prime location in Sultanahmet. However, one feature that pleasantly surprised me was the dining room's library. I enjoyed reading the newspaper while having a meal at the restaurant or enjoying snacks at the coffee shop/café.
Limited space for the room and no lift. Apologies were given the next morning, but it was still an uncomfortable experience.

Very nice budget design hotel. Good value for money. Pleasant staff. Rooms at the front are quiet (special especially given the location).
Rooms at the back of the hotel are a bit noisy (traffic of tramroad).

low price with an amazing quality!!! the breakfast is good, the bathroom is clean and the arrangement is tidy and lovely, including air conditioner and TV which sometimes cannot find them in other hotels with same price in old sultanahmet.
